Welcome to The Midwestern Musical Company. A Vintage Guitar and Amplifier store that is into its 16th year of servicing and supplying quality used and vintage guitar's amplifiers, drums, parts and accessories.

Founded in 1989 by Kansas City musicians Matt Kesler and Jim Strahm, The Midwestern Musical Co. was originally located in friendly Mission Kansas, where it quickly became one of the most trusted names in vintage instrument sales and repair. The business thrived there for fifteen years until it moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Located at 3101 Gillham Plaza (the corner of 31st and Gillham) within the Radiantly Beautiful and Historic El Torreon building.

Having many identities throughout nearly the entire 20th century, The El Torreon was once, the El Torreon Ballroom, One of the biggest and swingin'est ballrooms during KC's great jazz age and host to such greats as Cab Calloway and Benny Moten. More recently it is remembered fondly as The Cowtown Ballroom, a concert venue that played host to some of the biggest bands of the '60s and '70s, including Frank Zappa, The Eagles, Van Morrison and hundreds more.
